Tess O’Reilly (Perve Endings)
Forming in Brisbane in 2018, four-piece band @perve_endings shape a genre of their own - matching fiery punk and rock‘n’roll with their unapologetic admiration for pop and soul. Perve does not let expectations bound them, carving out a unique sound and presence through rotating songwriting and vocals. They deliver a style full of magnetic harmonies, memorable hooks, and powerful lyricism, touching on subjects from tokenism, toxic relationships, bullying, and gender inequality.
Perve Endings was selected as part of the 12 to watch due to their unique combination of sound and unity – creating an immersive and interesting atmosphere for both themselves and audiences. In their short time together, Perve Endings have landed slots on coveted line ups, playing with Aussie favourites such as Amyl and The Sniffers, A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Mini Skirt, Pist Idiots, and The Chats, as well as an east coast Australian tour with Ruby Fields only eighteen months into their Perve Endings’ career. Following the release of their debut EP 'Slow Burn' in late 2020, they worked hard for big releases in 2021, with some big shows on the calendar, including ticking off their first appearance at Jungle Love 2021 and on The Tivoli stage, in support of fellow record label heavy hitters, The Chats.
